This is a differential oil pressure switch (also called an oil failure switch) for refrigeration compressors. It has a grey metal housing with a connection for the oil pump pressure and a connection for the crankcase pressure.
It is used in measures the difference between the oil pump pressure and the crankcase pressure. If the oil pressure stays too low for a set time, it stops the compressor, so the compressor is not damaged by running without oil. After a trip, the red button must be pressed to reset the switch.
