A thermostatic expansion valve (TXV or TEV) is a refrigerant flow control valve fitted before the evaporator. This unit has a brass body, copper connections, a diaphragm head, and a copper sensing bulb on a coiled capillary tube.
it is mainly use for It controls how much liquid refrigerant enters the evaporator.The bulb is clamped to the evaporator outlet pipe and senses the gas temperature. The valve opens or closes automatically to match the cooling load. This keeps the evaporator working efficiently and protects the compressor from liquid refrigerant.
